The garaged car had no trouble being started within a -1 degree outside
temperature
I've found my car computer is far more sensitive to a dip in current than my starter motor is.
The first inkling I get that my battery is dying is when the car computer starts sending spurious alerts about non-existent clutch or temperature issues.

At any hour of the night, the neighbor’s car alarm sounds for a
short time and awakens me to action which I obtain from the
noumenon.
Could be the battery getting cold reduces the battery's current,
upsetting the car's electronics.
Maybe, if Dolf wants to get a good nights sleep, he could offer to buy
the neighbour a new, fully charged, battery. Either that ... or wait for
Spring/Summer!! ;-)
