Guess what pricing is going to go up in the days ahead?

Canada has a service oriented economy. It won't take much to
put a real squeeze on it.

You'd think Canadians would be smart enough to give Obama's
buddy the boot.

That's not a new political scenario. The rest of the world had hoped
that Americans would be smart enough to reject Trump. Now we're
wondering how long it will be before Americans are smart enough to
figure out that they are being conned by a carnival barker who keeps
telling them how great he is.

Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Trump all made promises to Israel.

Trump was the only one that delivered.

These people need help!
The lefties are all there trying to pile their crap on Trump saying he's no good.
Here's a bloke who has made a fortune in the toughest property market in the world, Manhattan.
He was top rating with his apprentice show, in the toughest TV market in the world the United States.
He beat all those Governors, Senators and sons of Presidents in the presidents primaries
for the Republican party, then he beat the revered Clinton machine.
He has raised a beautiful family, his children are a wonderful tribute to him,
"they all" say he is a hopeless failure?
On top of that he's married to Miss World.
So what have you got to do in life,
what have you got to do by these rotten miserable mongrels

Can't you even remember your inane comments about the GG? You claimed
constitutionally s/he had to be elected.

Anyhow it is interesting that the Republican movement is pushing this
idea for when our Royal Family is dropped as our HoS. I'd still prefer a
HoS appointed by a 2/3rd majority of both houses maybe from a bunch of
candidates put forward by a plebiscite

What was agreed to was parliament would elect the Governor General and
he was to do the job of what "we" now call a Prime Minister, who is
head of a ruling political party, There was never an intention to have
a Prime minister or parties "rule"! At the time of the Colonies each
state had a Governor, it was expected that a Governor General would be
the case for Federal Parliament.

The Christian belief and fact is Moslems are deceived.
Like Schizophrenics, they need therapy;
Not confirmation of their delusions.
The recognized place of worship in a Christian Nation is a Christian Church.
Mosques are the recognized place of worship only in Moslem countries
Australia's only legally defined God is our Christian God whose compound redemptive name is Lord Jesus Christ
Something as simple as denying Moslems a place to pray is all it takes to make them leave voluntarily and peacefully.

As I said before, and which you didn't understand the first time round,
didn't understand the second time round, and won't understand on the
22,000the time I mention it, a Minister (as (as defined by the
Constitution) is, in our system, considered to be the "leading" (aka,
Prime) Minister. Now go away and get a brain that functions. Even as

Guess what pricing is going to go up in the days ahead?
Canada has a service oriented economy. It won't take much to

You'd think Canadians would be smart enough to give Obama's

That's not a new political scenario. The rest of the world had hoped

The Donald succeeding as president in face of Left media Trump Derangement Syndrome.
So what have you got to do in life,
what have you got to do by these rotten miserable mongrels
in "our" media on the left, what have you got to do?

The Clinton and Bush era of the last 30 years is about to come
to an end in light of the sudden Saudi Arabian purge of Clinton
and Bush allies.

wondering how long it will be before Americans are smart enough to
figure out that they are being conned by a carnival barker who keeps
telling them how great he is.

Since Trump got in office, my 401K has soared. Kids who were
struggling to get more than 20 hours a week suddenly find
themelves working 30+ with a shot at benefits.

At the rate job increases are going, we're going to need
immigrants just to work those the lazy left-wing kids won't.

Most of my US friends and relatives are OK dudes. Some have ideas I
disagree with, like with my Aus mates, but can logically argue a
position with data. A lot of stuff shits me off about guns and US
superiority taken from a insular world ignorant position. To one of my
cousins from a superior NY private school, Australia is not in the
middle of Europe it takes 24hrs+ to see you

To be fair my relatives in the the US are stinking fucking rich septics
with a jewish background and I'd say overall democrat voting

Sanders and not Clinton should have been the Dem nominee.
Apparently Hilary had too much political baggage to be really successful.
And the alt-right Trump camp have exploited that vulnerability to their
advantage. Of course, they have also used the full selection of the
available dirty tactics to get Trump into the White House.

I don't really believe Sanders had any real chance of winning in that
race.
The truth is, the bulk of the Democrats are too right wing to accept
those more social measures Sanderds was proposing. Mind you, the way I
see it, the majority of Americans are right wingers these days, the
difference is just in the degree how far they are towards the right
extreme.

He's not saying that at all. Baggage can consist of many things. For
Hillary it inclued Whitewater and her husband, for Trump it includes him
being a he's serial liar, a sexual predator, a con man and multiple
other things.

dealings. That's NOT TRUMPS fault.
Oh goody. Another Trump supporter who introduces a straw man about
Hillary but hasn't got enough smarts to see through Trump the shyster
and all of his straw men.

Sanders and not Clinton should have been the Dem nominee.
Apparently Hilary had too much political baggage to be really successful.
And the alt-right Trump camp have exploited that vulnerability to their
advantage.
You're saying that Hillary is a criminal and TRUMP wanted to lock her up?
He's not saying that at all.  Baggage can consist of many things.  For
Hillary it inclued Whitewater and her husband, for Trump it includes him
being a he's serial liar, a sexual predator, a con man and multiple
other things.
Never figured out why she wasn't charged with the private server storage
but lets move on because the Trump Trust fund stuff looks interesting

Seems like a fair way to win an election. Pointing out that your

Amused in that head shaking way the bloke getting a hole in one at a
Trump charity event getting jipped ( wonder if that is a changed WW1
term referring to Egyptians) of his prize money or the foundation paying
for a portrait of Trump. When it comes to accusations of illegal
donations to Trump's campaign that is a real worry.

It wasn't the donations, it was the fact that disbursement of those
funds was handled by the Trump campaign.

You can't use a charity to pay campaign expenses.

That is the correct spelling but when used to mean fraudulent behaviour,
it does not refer to gypsies accordign to the OED. It says that the
term came from "non-combine cabs" (whatever they were) which were known

I thought it was, hence my wondering about it referencing Egyptians from
WW1, but my spell checker didn't like it and the WWW gave me the jipped

Here's another etymology
https://www.etymonline.com/word/gyp

gyp (v.)

also gip, "to cheat, swindle," 1889, American English, traditionally
derived from Gypsy (n.). Gyp/gip/jip is attested from 1794 as university
slang for a servant that waited on students in their halls. This is said
to have been especially a Cambridge word, and a story told there derived
it from Greek gyps "vulture," in reference to thievish habits of the
servants.

As a noun, "fraudulent action, a cheat," by 1914. Gypsy's abbreviated
form Gip, Gyp is attested from 1840. Gypping or gipping was a term late
19c. among horse dealers for tricks such as painting the animal's gray
hairs brown, puffing the gums, etc. Related: Gypped.

I'll believe the OED.
As pointed out, the OED is incomplete and therefore non-sensical on this.

"Gypsy" relates etymologically to "Egypt". (Aussie servicemen used the term "gyppos" to describe the locals while stationed in Egypt, but the connection was already there almost a century before.)

The Cambridge University origin is highly dubious for two reasons:
1/ A vanishingly small number of people ever learnt ancient Greek, certainly not enough for this to be the origin for the common usage of the term "gypped".
2/ In Ancient Greek the most commonly interpreted pronunciation for the word for vulture is like "goop".
It beggars belief that a small number of male toffs using the word "goop" could give rise to the term "gyp", when "Egyptian-->gypsy-->gyp" serves as a far, far more universal origin, especially considering that "gypsy" has long been considered a pejorative term anyway, and the stereotypes of gypsies in society accord with the meaning of the word "gypped".

Also worth noting that both French and Spanish etymologies tie "gitans" and "gitano", respectively, to Egypt.

Who knows? There are 4 separate and quite disparate entries in the OED
for 'gyp' and for 'gypped' possible (ie not known for certain) origins
are given as gippo or gypsie. When I look up 'gippo' that can be
various things including Egyptian or stew (yep, stew).

Baggage can consist of many
things. For Hillary it inclued Whitewater and her husband, for
Trump it includes him being a he's serial liar, a sexual
predator, a con man and multiple other things.
Never figured out why she wasn't charged with the private server
storage but lets move on because the Trump Trust fund stuff looks
interesting
Do you mean the Trump Foundation revelations?
Yes that's the one

Appalling and in character given his track record, but very interesting.
Amused in that head shaking way the bloke getting a hole in one at
a Trump charity event getting jipped ( wonder if that is a changed
WW1 term referring to Egyptians)
It's "gypped" and is an outdated, racist slur about gypsies.
That is the correct spelling but when used to mean fraudulent
behaviour, it does not refer to gypsies accordign to the OED.  It
says that the term came from  "non-combine cabs"
a non-company/cooperative taxi
(whatever they were) which were known
Post by Fran
as "'gyp taxis' which implies mingled piracy and deceit".
But the question remains why the 'gyp'?
Who knows?
I think the entomology goes further back then the taxi usage. I quite
like the 1794 university reference but feel in my waters that it is
reference to gypsies. Anyhow I, wrongly, thought it went back to WW1 as
my grandfather used to talk about thieving gypos who'd rip you off at
the drop of a hat

There are 4 separate and quite disparate entries in the OED
Post by Fran
for 'gyp' and for 'gypped' possible (ie not known for certain) origins
are given as gippo or gypsie.  When I look up 'gippo' that can be
various things including Egyptian or stew (yep, stew).

Was he Australian and served overseas? If so, from his WWI experience
and where Australians were trained, he would have been talking about
Egyptians. You and I both know a bit about our military history and that
the Aussie lads would have been fair game to Egyptians back then.

OK it looks like the reference is to Gypsy and their SUPPOSED thieving

The OED's version makes no sense.

Modifying the already-existing word "taxi" with a word that had no
meaning until just that moment?

It does make sense. The 20 volume OED is an etymological dictionary and
so records how and when humans use words. In decades time, no doubt
someone will question how the word "sick" could make sense when used by
early 21st century teens to mean, 'good, great, desirable' or any of the
other things that teens mean when they say something is "sick"

Yep, that is precisely how humans often use words. Look at Trump and
his use of 'goodly'!! Humans often desecrate a perfectly good language
by misuse and then decades later, we find it in the dictionary and
wonder how some nincompoop ever used it that way to begin with and then
it might be taken up by other nincompoops and so move into daily use or
it may drops out of usage completely. I just hope we don't adopt the US
bad habit of dropping prepositions.

Bullshit. Fist, "goodly" was an English word long before Trump was
born. Misusing it is not a neologism, it's just dumb, stupid ignorance.

Second, it has a commonly-understood root. Third, are you seriously
suggesting that "goodly" as misused by T-Rump has a snowball's chance of
being adopted commonly?

No, because it's just stupid usage.

No way "gyp" didn't already exist before it was applied to "taxi".

I don't know why you're being so defensive WRT other possible derivations.

What you really mean is that I should accept YOUR derivation and that
you are being defensive and will not accept as any possibility the long
list of meaning I gave which were sourced from an authoritative
dictionary.

She was not charged because private server usage in itself is not a
punishable offence. And they could never prove that she has moved any
classified government data to private storage. So in other words it was a
typical Republican beat up!

What the Trump camp did is on the other hand very likely to be at the
least borderline criminal.
But have no fear... if this issue will get to dangerous for his own
presidential survival he will just blame the Democrats and Hilary again
and if that still won't help he'll than pardon himself!

LOL. He's good at that. His point and yell technique certainly manages
to fool a hell of a lot of yanks. Amazing how gullible so many are who
don't seem to notice his true nature. He makes our motley lot of
political fools look good. By comparison, even our worst is a Saint and

Guess what pricing is going to go up in the days ahead?
Canada has a service oriented economy. It won't take much to
put a real squeeze on it.
You'd think Canadians would be smart enough to give Obama's
