Officers from the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and ASIO have raided
NSW Labor MP Shaoquett Moselmane's home and office in Sydney this morning.

NSW Labor leader Jodi McKay confirmed she was aware of the raids, and
that the party would suspend Mr Moselmane's membership.

Ms McKay described reports that Mr Moselmane's office had allegedly been
infiltrated by Chinese government agents as "dreadfully concerning".

Dreadfully concerning is a total understatement

Hardly. Till we know more, I'm not all that interested. The AFP is not
all that trustworthy these days and the same applies to ASIO. At this
stage, it's worth waiting to see what exactly turns out to be
'dreadfully concerning' - it could be the Labor bloke/or his office
staff or it could be the security raiders.

You are being very naive here. Jody "I know nothing, I am from
Newcastle" McKay couldn't flick him quickly enough from the party today,
and considering she has failed to do this time and time again when he
spoke out about China, shows you something is afoot.

Well researched article here in Sydney Morning Herald, worth reading,

Do you think it will have any effect at all? Labor should win,

Ya never know.... Kelly had a fairly good personal following and
didn't get in by a huge margin last time round.

Actually Mark Latham makes sense when you hear him talk, well spoken
middle of centre arguments, not extreme like Pauline, and IMO using
Pauline as a way to get back into public life.

Actually Mark Latham makes sense
To whom?
Must be mainly to the terminally brain-dead.

That man is a political turn-coat, a failed shock jock, a hardly
successful opportunist and a documented anger management train-wrack. But
even if he was not all that, just by allying himself with the objectives
a despicable bogan party like the ON should disqualify him from being
regarded as a sensible politician.
Post by NNTP Bot
when you hear him talk, well spoken

Depends on where on the political bias scale his listeners are.
Anyhow, he is just a typical populist but w/o any useful substance
objectively speaking.
Post by NNTP Bot
not extreme like Pauline, and IMO using
Pauline as a way to get back into public life.
I have no doubt he is desperately trying to use ON to climb out of the
hole he has dug himself into after leaving the ALP.
But does the Australian public need yet another creep in politics whose
main obsession is to satisfy his personal ambitions.

On the summary, he is no batter than any of his ON mates, Pauline
included.
Luckily at the moment he has only succeeded in sidelining himself into a
dead end street. Well done. Should stay there!

Officers from the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and ASIO have
raided NSW Labor MP Shaoquett Moselmane's home and office in Sydney
this morning.
NSW Labor leader Jodi McKay confirmed she was aware of the raids,
and that the party would suspend Mr Moselmane's membership.
Ms McKay described reports that Mr Moselmane's office had allegedly
been infiltrated by Chinese government agents as "dreadfully

Dreadfully concerning is a total understatement
Hardly. Till we know more, I'm not all that interested. The AFP is
not all that trustworthy these days and the same applies to ASIO. At
this stage, it's worth waiting to see what exactly turns out to be
'dreadfully concerning' - it could be the Labor bloke/or his office

He did succeed a Chinese born MLC so it's quite possible that there is
a solid Chinese-Australian base of support and he panders to them. I
know a lot of them are still super pro China despite living in Oz or
even having citizenship. I don't recall any OTT praise of Xi but I may

We'll hear more as time goes on but I wouldn't put it past China to try

Zhang. Little mention of him (so far).

What is it with these believers of such rubbish? Never willing to

And then he went on to praise his brother's charity efforts in China

From what Moselmane has said today (“I’m informed I am not a suspect
in this investigation.") it seems I was bang on the money about it
being a staffer (or maybe more than one staffer) who is of interest
to the spooks and the Fed wallopers.
Would you expect him to admit being a suspect, if he was?
Disgraceful response by Moselmane spokesman (the brother), blaming
ASIO/AFP raid on "Zionism and racism".
Huge insult to Federal Police AND the NSW Jewish community.
Jodi McKay must punt this motley crew in its totality.
How did they end up in NSW Right???

FAMILY MEMBERS DEFEND MP

The brother of Shaoquett Moselmane says the Labor MP is a “scapegoat”
and a “victim of racism” who has nothing to do with the Chinese
Communist Party.

Shawki Moselmane visited his brother’s Rockdale home on Friday
afternoon following the raids, and described him as a respectable,
honest person and a “whistleblower” who was the victim of a government
conspiracy run by the “Zionists and racists”.

If it is not political, McKay would have been informed before hand. The
fact that the press were in tag-a-long says it is political.
He s free to say what he want. If he was of some risk, i'd have expected
him to be locked up. So it is all a political stunt. why didn't they
arrest the staffer?

Information on the raids needs to be made public before action can be
taken.
Because it’s possible you could suspend this guy from the Parliament …
and he goes to the Supreme Court and the decision is overturned.

That would be a disaster for the Parliament

The Labor party has sacked him even your letie ABC ststes this
Sounds like his "own" party have dobbed him in!
Even "'Shanghai Sam' Dastyari," was not sacked from the Labor party
(Should be)

NSW Labor leader Jodi McKay will move to suspend Shaoquett Moselmane
from Parliament, a day after the Government announced it planned do
just that.

He was suspended from the Labor Party on Friday after his house and
office were raided by agents from the Australian Federal Police in a
joint-investigation with ASIO.

It meant that Mr Moselmane was no longer part of Labor Caucus but
could still sit in the Upper House as a member of parliament.

But Ms McKay said she now believed her MP should be banned from the
Legislative Council and Labor would move a motion to suspend him from
Parliament.

"The decision we have made today as a leadership team is one that has
been discussed over the past two days," she said.

"This is a decision I don't take lightly."

The motion won't be moved until August because Parliament is currently
on winter break.

Ms McKay said Mr Moselmane has been advised and that she was seeking
his support for the suspension motion.

Dealing with treason/traitors "legal rights" go out the door
BOTH sides of Parliament Labor and Coalition will *combine votes* for
attaint "MP Shaoquett Moselmane" from entering Parliament

A person attainted need not have been convicted of treason in a court
of law; in fact, the attainder process is a method of declaring a

they can be kept from the few sensitive areas as this guy had already

He wouldn't have said "I'm informed" if he hadn't been so informed. The
